Located on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Dakota Ridge is an ideal winter destination for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
The Dakota Ridge Recreation Area offers world-class cross country skiing and snowshoeing on BC's Sunshine Coast, and is only a short 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. Dakota Ridge maintains 13 km of track-set cross country ski trails (classic and skate) and 8 km of snowshoe trails that wind through old growth forests and open areas in a beautiful subalpine setting.
Amazing views of the Coast Mountains, Vancouver Island, and Georgia Straight capture the magic of the Sunshine Coast. Dakota Ridge is accessed by 13 km of maintained 4-wheel drive forest service road.
The operations of the Dakota Ridge Winter Recreation Area are managed by the Sunshine Coast Regional District.
DAKOTA RIDGE IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. The road up is no longer being plowed, but recent snowfall means that snowshoeing / non-track skiing conditions are still great. Use caution on the road if you are planning to drive up.
